You and your family can enjoy all
of the great activities sponsored by our club. We have more seminars,
guest speakers, clinics, barbecues and captain/crew meetings than any
other fishing club! We sponsor over 30 fishing contests each year with
cash prizes awarded to club members.

Fishing
Contests
Every January to December, the club sponsors
fishing contests for you to fish in. Each contest or fishing derby as
we like to call them, has awards for first through third place.
It ain’t just tuna, either! Every year, we have
derbies for fluke, flounder, blackfish, seabass, bluefish, shark, tuna
(of course), striped bass, codfish, mahi, green bonita and false albacore.
At the Freeport Tuna Club, a half pound flounder wins as much as a 200
pound bigeye tuna!
Yearly
Club Awards
Every year over 45 FTC Awards are presented to club members
who have made outstanding catches during the season. Each award consists
of a $75 Gift Certificate and a beautiful personalized plaque to commemorate
the event! Award categories and recent winners are listed on the Annual
Awards page on this website.
Rodeos
Each Spring and Fall, we have a Rodeo weekend where club
members and their families fish to win hundreds of dollars worth of prizes.
On Rodeo weekends we fish from Friday night through Sunday and have an
awards barbecue along with a prize ceremony bash at our property on Sunday
evening.
Seminars
The Freeport Tuna Club sponsors various seminars each year
(Tuna, Shark & Striped Bass).
Clubhouse
& Marina
The Freeport Tuna Club has its own clubhouse and marina
on the Hudson Canal in Freeport. The Clubhouse features a small meeting
room for club functions, rest rooms with hot showers and a covered patio
deck. It includes 31 boat slips with a winter bubble system that enables
you to keep your boat in your slip and fish all winter long for trophy
blackfish and codfish. There is plenty of room for dock boxes and freezers,
along with secured parking for you and your guests.
Monthly
General Meetings
The Freeport Tuna Club meets every second Thursday of the
month. All club business is taken care of and there is a hot and cold
buffet with beer and soda available for all to enjoy! Guest speakers who
are respected experts in their fields are scheduled whenever possible.
Barbecues
From April into November, Thursday nights are your night
out at the Freeport Tuna Club. Whether it's an Open Fishing Clinic, Private
Club Fishing Clinic, or a Captain-Crew meeting, the barbecue is always
running on Thursday nights. At the Club's Marina you'll find plenty of
good food, sturdy drink, and fish stories galore.
Regular
Membership
Individual membership for one year costs $225. Family memberships
(you, your spouse and children) for one year cost $250. Family memberships
make your spouse and children (under 18) eligible for all the prizes and
activities the Freeport Tuna Club has to offer. There is also a one-time
initiation fee of $100. Membership in the Freeport Tuna Club is available
